About

Hello, I'm Seven Ilyas. Born and moulded by London's diverse expanse, I navigate the complex domains of infosec and human behaviour. I've created this space to chronicle my evolving insights into the discipline.

I find myself continually drawn to the paradoxes that emerge when human intuition meets the structured realm of technology. Currently, I focus on human factors in cybersecurity - exploring how people make security decisions and where systems could better align with mental models and behaviour.

For instance, our natural tendency to trust often contrasts with the caution and vigilance cybersecurity emphasises. These observations highlight the intriguing aspects of human factors in cybersecurity, like our decisions and the gap between intuition and systematic designs.

Away from the screen, my love for bespoke tailoring and needlework provides balance. Just as in cybersecurity, these crafts require an intricate dance of imagination, precision, and foresight.

At the heart of my exploration is the human element, that unpredictable variable in our ever-complex sociotechnical equation.
